Beliefs these kids will inherit..

I don’t think our kids need to inherit the anxieties and fears that our adult population has come to consider normal. My main realisation in life is that all men’s problems stem from own unacknowledged and unexamined beliefs. I’m a trader with an interest in human flourishing and our common future potential. This blog is about preserving the joy for life and autonomy of mind beyond early childhood all the way into adulthood.

In the age of increased complexity, those who get better at debunking own and others’ beliefs will win. The clock is ticking faster. This blog is about challenging conventional thinking and emotions in practical terms.

The model ‘Teacher asks, student answers’ created a world where few people know how to ask good questions. The space created by certain small advances in freedom in education and parenting, got immediately filled with ‘dopamine on demand’ economy. This happened before most brains learned how to really think for themselves.

I am exploring insights and experience that contribute to people becoming self-acting and future proof in an increasingly complex world. I approach this from all sides - education, the parents (as opposed to ‘parenting’), other outside influences. Anything that can influence beliefs that form within an individual.

A miniscule % of young people nowadays really take ownership of their learning and future. Those who do, see a creative wonderworld of possibility. A real renaissance. The rest is plagued by a cocktail of anxieties, a sense of emptiness and/or lack of direction and meaning. The divide is not strictly wealth related in the developed world. It is a massive waste of human potential, in the most prosperous and opportunity filled time in history.

Whilst managing own capital for the past 9 years, I was pulled into years of active exploration in the fields of philosophy, cognitive science, neuroscience, epistemology, timeless ancient wisdom, complexity science - anything that provides insight into highest possible human flourishing and stood the test of time. Then I discarded, digested, synthesised the insights to their relevant essence.

Some subjects I will raise might not make sense initially and that’s ok. My goal is to creatively express truth as I see it and I love to get your feedback.
